The Mid Glamorgan EES Forum - Fforwm EES Morgannwg Ganol
The Mid Glamorgan EES (Enabling Effective Support) Forum. Aims: The aim of the Forum is to promote the take up and understanding of Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESD&GC) within education in the Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda-Cynon-Taf Unitary Authorities in response to local and national strategies. The EES process recognises the need to liaise and work collaboratively with others involved in the wider education community (eg the FE, HE, training, ITT, Adult, Youth, Community sectors). Objectives: To achieve its aims the Forum will liaise with the ESDGC strategy teams of the 4 authorities to:
Identify and raise awareness of best practice within the area
Improve access to relevant resources
Develop or encourage local innovation in the teaching and delivery of ESD&GC
Disseminate information on best practice, resources and local innovation from within its area and Wales as a whole to the ESD&GC audience in its area.
Act as a focal point for ESD&GC activity within the Mid Glamorgan area.
Undertake any other activity that can demonstrate its contribution towards achieving the objectives and outcomes detailed in the Welsh Assembly Government’s strategy for ESD&GC and approved by the EES Coordinator.
Each Forum has been set up to implement, coordinate and develop the Enabling Effective Support (EES) Strategy initiated by the Department for International Development and supported by the Welsh Assembly Government and Cyfanfyd. As such the Forum forms part of a series of similar Fora across Wales that are working towards the same aims
